What is Judo?
Judo is an unarmed modern Japanese martial art. The goal of competitive Judo is to throw an opponent, pin, or submit them using a joint lock or choke. Judo was the first Japanese sport to be included in the Olympics in 1964.
Judo was created in 1882 and afterwards became the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s primary martial art. Judo is seen as the origin of many martial arts around the world, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, sambo and ARB.
A number of Judo practitioners have become well-known in mixed martial arts (MMA).
